Christmas Message and question for you !!!

BACKGROUND / FOREGROUND

Dr. Donald Epstein, founder of Network Spinal Analysis, once said at a seminar I attended that the person who masters background/foreground mastered their life.  I remember being curious about that, not really understanding the full implications at that time in my career.  However, understanding comes with time and experience and now I want to share this with you as well.
So far my blog as been concerned with coming fully into the body, where we are in time and space so that we really show up to whomever or whatever.  I’ve brought the 7 vital keys to your attention in order to give them significance.  In my experience, without these kinds of daily life connectors, weekly mediation, yoga, or martial art classes cannot develop sustained elevated consciousness.  Not because there is any flaw in them, but simply because of our condensed lives today; with massive information overload, stressed jobs, lack of personal time, financial difficulties, and the massive conditioning we are all subjected to.  Special classes become a mere drop in the buck, leaving little or no foot print behind.
With my approach, daily life, whether in a farmer’s field or a corporate office, becomes a fertile ground for self actualization and purpose.  Then, meditation, yoga, and martial art classes act as huge amplifiers.  Make sense?
Now, to the background / foreground subject.  Foreground is whatever is foremost in your attention and focus.  To use an extreme example, take tunnel vision.  That is pure foreground and not a good idea because peripheral awareness is lost.  A more reasonable example is my writing this paper.  It is my foreground focus right now, thus, my wife at work, my dog and cats, etc. are in the background.  I’m sure this is easy to understand.
Well, let us now apply it.  Application is always the trick because we all generally live habitually, not consciously.  Let’s say that your life has a significant amount of stress right now.  It maybe money/bills, the kids, the work and your boss, your health and weight, elderly parents, or all of the above.  On top of that let’s say you watch CNN too.  With these kinds of challenges, it’s very easy for them to become your foreground focus.  Why?  A couple of reasons.  One, no one taught or trained you otherwise.  Two, our brain is programmed for survival.  It automatically picks up on anything in the environment which is dangerous, scary, worrisome, or an imagined threat.   That’s why CNN thrives.  People flock to see ‘constantly negative news.’ The Media and Pharma etc. simply take advantage of human nature, designing their material accordingly.
But while all this negative stress, crises, danger, worry, and whatever they can think up to scare us is going on in the foreground; beauty, love, miracles, and the sheer wonder of creation is going on in the background.  The superior man or women is the one who switches at will the background to the foreground or visa versa.  They see abundance where the group sees lack.  They see beauty and opportunity, where the rest see destruction and closed doors.  This is what I mean by living above the system, superior to the matrix, greater than the environment.  It’s not the whole story, far from it, but it’s a big part.
Try it today; try it every day of your life.  Remember the fact that energy flows where attention goes.  Period.  Since we own our attention, we can choose what to notice. Since this is a reflective universe, we will experience what we pay attention to, what we value.  Make it conscious, don’t leave this to chance.  There are no ordinary moments, only absent minded moments.
I’m working hard to complete my book and will have it up for you in January on Amazon.  If you like my material now, you’ll really find my book interesting and relevant.
Please take a moment to fill out my 2 simple questions; it will really help me to focus my book and articles for you all.  Please add your email and send it to me by my gkruhly@gmail.com,  I will read every single one.
